Why Westside Baptist Academy
What you are actually choosing when you enroll a child here.
Choosing a school is not really a decision about a building or a curriculum. It is a decision about who spends thirty-five hours a week with your child, and what they believe while they do it.
Here is what we would want you to weigh.
You are choosing a partner, not a provider
Westside Baptist Academy exists to help Christian parents train their children. That framing has practical consequences. We call home early rather than late. We expect to be told when something at home is affecting a student. We back parents up rather than working around them, and we ask the same in return.
You are choosing to be known
The Academy is a small school. Every teacher knows every student's name. There is nowhere to hide here — which is uncomfortable for a student coasting, and a relief for a student who was invisible somewhere larger.
The trade-off is honest: a school this size offers fewer course sections, fewer sports, and fewer specialized programs than a large school does. Families who want the widest possible menu will find it elsewhere. Families who want their child known by adults who share their convictions find it here.
You are choosing a doctrinal position
We are a ministry of Westside Baptist Church, and we teach accordingly. Bible is a daily class. Chapel is part of the week. Every subject is taught from a biblical worldview, not a neutral one.
We would rather a family read our position and decide against us than enroll and discover it in October.
You are choosing academics that will hold up
College-preparatory coursework, teacher-led instruction, annual standardized achievement testing, and a published grading policy that anyone can check.

Common questions
Do we have to be members of Westside Baptist Church?
No, and families from many churches enroll here. But faithful attendance at a Bible-preaching, doctrinally sound church — by parents as well as students — is one of our enrollment agreements, and it is not optional. Students return a signed church attendance slip each Monday.
How old must a child be to start kindergarten?
K5 students must be five years old by October 1. Exceptions are considered case by case, so call the office if your child's birthday falls close to the line.
Is there a placement test?
Yes. All new students undergo assessment testing during enrollment, and the cost is the parents' responsibility. A personal interview is also required of every new student.
How is tuition paid?
Ten monthly payments, due on the 15th of each month from August 15 through May 15. There is a discount for the second and third child in the same household. Full details.
What grades do you serve?
K5 through 12th grade, on one campus.
Can we enroll mid-year?
Yes, as space allows. A student enrolling mid-year is graded only for the grading periods they are actually here.
Do you accept transfer students from public school or homeschool?
Yes. Bring records with you; placement is determined case by case in consultation with the principal.
How big are the classes?
Small — that is a deliberate choice rather than a temporary condition. Call the office for current enrollment in the grade you are asking about.
Do students wear uniforms?
Yes. The standard is set out in full in the student handbook.
